Do I need a working key to use this service?
No. We specialize in lost-all-keys situations. Ship us the door lock, immobilizer module and we work from that — no original key required at any point in the process.
Does the immobilizer module need to be reprogrammed too?
Yes — on most Volvo models the key and immobilizer are electronically paired. We handle the full programming sequence so your vehicle starts and runs exactly as it should.
Is this cheaper than a dealer?
Almost always significantly cheaper. Dealers charge full labor rates plus parts markup. We bundle labor and materials into one flat price with no dealer overhead — and you never have to tow the vehicle. In most cases dealers no longer service these vehicles because the Immobilizer system parts are discontinued.
Do I need to send both the Immobilizer module and the door lock cylinder?
For lost-all-keys situations yes — we need both the immobilizer module and the door lock cylinder to generate a new working key from scratch. The Volvo immobilizer system requires both components to be present. We will tell you exactly what to remove when we contact you after your form submission.
Do I need to tow the whole vehicle to you?
No — usually just the door lock cylinder and immobilizer module. We'll tell you exactly what to remove and how to ship it when we contact you after your form submission.
